So we are doing a podcast..

I met with a very dear friend of mine a few months ago that I hadn’t seen in years. We did the thing that all of us do, the whole “let’s grab lunch or a drink soon” and then months turned to years and blah blah blah. We all do it. This time we decided to make it happen and it was awesome. He was exactly as I remembered and we fell back in to conversation mode as if we had been hanging out every weekend for years. Three hours flew by like nothing, it was great. As we were talking and catching up it turns out that we have a lot of the same current interest, like photography and writing, and also podcast! He had actually started one with a friend of his and he was wanting to start a few more and branch out a bit. I have wanted to do one since I first heard a podcast, it’s just a great medium, and I listen to several podcasts on my drive to work every day. It’s become one of my main sources of entertainment and knowledge gathering tools. They are wonderful in so many ways and I have completely replaced the banality of radio and it’s incessant stream of ads and bullshit and I couldn’t be more satisfied with my new obsession.

When he, his name is Derrick by the way, found out that I was a fan of the genre and had always wanted to try my hand at it, he asked me if I thought I could talk on mic for 20 minutes. Hahahahahaha……. It seemed that he had forgotten my penchant for diatribes! I can go on for hours if the topic is good! I explained that yes, I could probably eek out 20 minutes or so, that shouldn’t be a problem at all. So we decided to give it a shot. We are basing it on the general premise of this blog, as in, whatever the fuck we want to talk about.

We did our first episode with a buddy of mine, a local legend in the Denton Tx music scene, named Bone Doggie. He is one of the most interesting people that you could ever hope to meet. He has been around music his whole life and he is fascinating.. I am so excited to get the podcast moving forward and really dig in to it for 2018, it’s going to be a really cool adventure. give it a listen on ITunes or your favorite podcast platform and drop me a review!
